More Virgin stuff

Here are my first two stabs at design for the Virgin America Safety Video these key frames were all my "handy work" but eventually ,as I had always wanted ,the character design became a collaboration and combination of Nick Hewitt , Mike Overbeck's and my own.We wanted inconsistency in character design ,we wanted them to look like naive doodles.
These are my character designs that "made the cut".

Timecrimes

Timecrimes,a.k.a. Los cronocrimienes -great Spanish /suspense /time travel movie.Full of shame,guilt and remorse.If you are ever considering entering a time machine ,PLEASE watch this movie first.These are quick ruffs I drew while watching this fantastic movie alone.

Story Test

This is a storyboard test I did recently, the only instructions were that it was to have two characters that annoy each other in a waiting room .

I found this child's space helmet in a thrift store about a million years ago, and if you squeeze it in the middle,it can accommodate even my enormous melon.

Vehicle Design

I love drawing things on wheels I just don't get hired to do it very often.

These were some "home made "looking rocket cars I designed for a pitch for an educational TV show associated with the exploratorium kid's museum in Frisco.A Winnebago/hide-out for a TV pitch about extreme-skatboarding-zombie-kid-rockstars with a pirate TV station. This is my only line drawing of a personal favorite.This is my finished photoshoppette of one of the coolest compact's ever, a 1967 Subaru.

Sound Lab Pitch

This was a series of key frames I did for the kind people of Bonfire,it was for a pitch for an instructional film with a scientist spokesperson in the style of my virgin video(sort of) for an unnamed sound laboratory.I enjoy working in this unfinished goofy style,no clean-up necessary,unfortunately we did not get this one.

Design for Cut-Out Animation

Here is a design pitch I had to turn around quickly for yet another cut -out style /after fx job.It was for an unamed sandwich chain for my pal Paul at Ffake. First I got my pose.(when you design for cut-out no one ever needs to see your drawing.)

Then I frantically "acquired "images.

Here is what I sent ,the clients liked it but it never happened ,mmmmm horse sandwich with cowboy condiment.
